A Worcester Air Project Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of a sheet metal project, from the initial planning stages to the project’s completion.
Responsibilities
Project Planning
- Develop project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule. Transfer agreed-upon customer expectations from the Estimating team.
- Lead transition of a won project to coordination, shop fabrication, and field installation teams.
- Complete work to achieve approved submittals in a timely manner.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, monthly progress meetings, and closeout meetings
- Advocate construction approaches to mechanical contractors and GC to achieve optimal means and methods for duct installation in a profitable and safe manner.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Team Management
- Leads a project team consisting of coordination, fabrication, and installation teams.
- Provide guidance and support to team members.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication among team members, internally and externally.
Budgeting and Cost Management
- Develop and track project budgets.
- Monitor costs and expenses, especially field labor, ensuring adherence to the budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Identify work required beyond the agreed scope. Estimate, prepare, and secure change orders for extra work.
Scheduling
- Develop and maintain project schedules. Plan ahead for manpower requirements and shop fabrication time.
- Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary to meet project deadlines.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Proactively address issues to minimize disruptions to the project.
Quality Assurance
- Implement quality control measures to ensure construction meets specified standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
Contract Management
- Oversee purchased components of the project with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Lead submittal process to achieve timely approvals.
- Ensure timely delivery compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Client Communication
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates on project progress.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings to advance company objectives in a collaborative manner.
- Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
Health and Safety
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Regularly inspect the construction site for adherence to safety standards.
