Peter Scalamandre & Sons, Inc., a leading name in the construction industry, is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. This role is instrumental in the planning, execution, and completion of our construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to our high standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Assist in the complete lifecycle management of construction projects, including initial analysis of estimates, contracts, and plans to ensure project profitability. Participate in the planning of material needs, project progression, and setup.
- Documentation and Reporting: Manage and maintain accurate project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, LEED progress & certification, and project schedules. Control change order process, incorporating appropriate labor rates, subcontractor scope and material backup. Ensure timely and effective communication of project status and updates to all stakeholders.
- On-Site Supervision: Actively supervise the installation of projects, coordinating with subcontractors and crews to ensure adherence to quality and profitability standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Serve as a key liaison between architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, with exposure to project management processes and methodologies, including project scheduling. Document control and management of necessary contract Specifications and Drawings. NY State D.O.T. and NYC D.O.B. permitting experience is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with project management software. Procore, Bluebeam, MS Projects. Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with all project stakeholders.
- Leadership Potential: Demonstrated potential for leadership and growth within the organization, with a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
- Other: Clean driver’s license, OSHA 10, and SST 40.
