Development/Design Assistant
Open to: Architectural, Interiors and Civil engineering majors
This position offers the correct candidate the opportunity to work with a large New England based development company preparing design plans for future development projects.
The successful candidate would report directly to and work with an existing design team in the firm and assist with the design and planning of mid size to large retail/mixed use/hospitality developments throughout New England and the country. To maximize the experience, the candidate should be proficient in the use of AutoCAD/Photoshop/illustrator and be familiar with basic design principles. Excellent communication skills, a “can do” personality as well as a positive approach to learning new things are the prerequisites, for the job.
Day to day activities could include:
Assisting with preliminary plan research
Review of zoning bylaws
Preparation of zoning summary documents
Preparation of preliminary site plan alternatives
Preparation of lease documentation
Assisting with constructability analysis
Implementation of tenant criteria
Preliminary cost analysis
Transforming rough designs into drawings using AutoCAD, and/or other CAD and image rendering programs.
