SUMMARY:
The Field Engineer Coop assists and supports the Superintendent on assigned projects while working from the field office. The position will require independent problem solving, decision making and the implementation of standard construction procedures to meet and support onsite construction project requirements. In addition, this position requires an adaptable team player who also has the ability to be flexible and is highly motivated. The Field Engineer Coop reports to the assigned Superintendent.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to fully understand and carry out New England Construction’s construction procedures and ensure consistency on job sites.
- Attend weekly onsite meetings including Subcontractor coordination meetings, owner/architect meetings, and internal team meetings.
- Produce clear and concise meeting minutes during weekly Subcontractor meetings.
- Effectively support the Project Engineer throughout the submittal process.
- Create and distribute RFI questions and responses as needed.
- Ensure team members and Subcontractor(s) have all current construction documentation.
- Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with project start up and jobsite initial set up including, but not limited to site analysis, cost estimating, construction planning, and scheduling.
- Establish and maintain the project quality files and documentation systems to NEC standards.
- Receive Procore Certifications and ability to use Procore effectively.
- Assist in preparing daily construction reports using Procore Software. Record information such as personnel, production or operation data on specific forms.
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling of specific site activities and trades as directed by the Superintendent.
- Assist in the preparation of final records for the project such as punchlists, and RCL’s.
- Assists in monitoring field work to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, procedures, specifications and codes. Must be able to create and maintain a safety-first environment.
- Support in the preparation of project schedules by shadowing the Project Team during schedule updates.
- Meet bi-weekly at a minimum with your Manager to review work on personal goals and provide update on projects.
- Participate in New England Construction training programs as required.
- Requires travel to jobsites.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
