The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager and Superintendent in organizing, controlling, monitoring and recording activities which are part of the construction management of a commercial construction project.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:
- Layout building components, grid lines, and bounds onsite using a total station
- Oversee coordination and maintenance of project documentation
- Conduct field verifications of all building scopes
- Conduct quality control of elevation and slope using a builders level
- Conduct quality control on multiple aspects of concrete, steel, framing, and MEP
- Assist the safety personnel with implementation and enforcement of safety standards
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- May assist creating material takeoffs and procuring materials for the project
- Understand the project overall schedule and its relationship to PE tasks
- May assist with coordination of subcontractors and company employees
- Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in any other assigned tasks
- May manage submittals, change orders, and Requests for Information
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This position is moderately strenuous. Applicants must be able to lift and carry objects. Applicants must be able to work in all weather conditions. Activities may include climbing ladders or scaffolding, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling and standing for periods of time. Applicants must be able to see clearly and recognize small details. Applicants must be able to sit in an office environment and use a tablet, keyboard and mouse. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate by phone and text messaging.
