HUIT Technical Support Engineer Intern Field Support Co-Ops will gain hands-on academic environment IT experience by contributing to a dynamic, inclusive, challenging, and fast paced environment throughout various HUIT departments. They will be offered varied roles that will present an opportunity to utilize a wide range of skills through daily tasks and project work. Co-ops will be exposed to learning various support tools and industry best practices. Acting as part of our Field Support group, this team will gain valuable experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues and partaking in specialized technical projects when available.
Ideal candidates should have outstanding customer service skills and display the ability to shift priorities. They should be highly adaptable and willing to take initiative. Interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary as our candidates will be interacting with students, administrative staff and faculty that encompass a vast array of Harvard departments.
Roles and responsibilities include, but not be limited to:
* Maintaining and managing assigned help desk tickets daily
* Completing assigned tasks from immediate supervisor or various field support managers
* Assist with deploying Windows and Apple devices, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other peripherals
* Asset management tracking
* Technical support for student housing, computer labs, and customer facing Harvard departments
* Assisting field support managers with staff and departmental equipment moves
* Assist our admin refresh team with imaging computers using SCCM and JAMF deployment tools
* Technical maintenance tasks including software installs, system updates, and recycling of computer equipment
