Hensel Phelps is committed to providing students in the construction field the opportunity to gain supervised practical experience. The objectives of the internship program are as follows:
1. To familiarize students with the construction industry and the processes of planning, design, and field operations.
2. To introduce students to the complex interrelationships which exist between the various tasks and participants in a construction project.
3. To expose students to the numerous management functions that must be performed within Hensel Phelps.
4. To aid students in acquiring specific job skills that will enhance their value to the construction industry when they embark upon their careers.
We will position you as an Estimator, Safety Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, Field Engineer, Office Engineer, or any combination thereof depending on the projects need. The goal is to expose you to as many items listed as practical for the specific project to which you are assigned. You and your supervisor will check items related to your given tasks on the enclosed forms. At the end of each performance period, you will be evaluated by your supervisors and, at the end of your internship, you will complete an evaluation of your experience with Hensel Phelps.
Hensel Phelps will provide housing and reimburse for travel expenses for travel to/from the project location. Transportation to the jobsite on a daily basis is the responsibility of the student.
