About the Role: This role is located at our Andover site, which serves as embecta’s new product development hub. While a co-op at embecta, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the research and development of electro-mechanical devices that will have a key impact on the Diabetes Care market. We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in learning about medical device design, testing, and verification. By the end of your tenure, our goal is for you to have directly contributed to the design of a diabetes care device, gaining hands-on experience and valuable insights into the entire product development lifecycle. As a co-op in the Mechanical Engineering R&D group, you will be responsible for the following:
- Product and/or fixture design in SolidWorks
- Exploratory testing in cross-functional teams to define test equipment, test fixtures, and test methods development
- Participate in test methods validation and execution of testing
- Analyze and interpret data using Minitab and MATLAB
- Design and execute mechanical and statistical simulations in Solidworks and Crystal Ball
- Support in-house rapid prototyping; including 3D printers, mills/lathes, laser cutters, and desktop injection molding machines
