2024 – Intern/Co-Op
General Statement of Duties for Engineering Intern/Co-Op:
• Assist Engineer to prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates of various municipal improvement projects.
• Process Street Excavation Permits, Curb Cut Permits, Stormwater Management Permits and Stormwater Connection Permits.
• Assist Engineer to review development projects.
• Maintain and update subdivision plans and assessor plans.
• Prepare plats; collect and/or measure survey data; and create parcel maps.
• Perform lower level project management functions; calculate project quantities; prepare project cost estimates and specifications; and coordinates activities with other City departments and external agencies.
• Administer construction contracts; provide engineering support during project construction, and process contract change orders and design revisions.
• Attend various internal and external meetings regarding engineering topics or issues and respond to questions and inquiries from various individuals, groups, organizations or companies regarding a wide range of engineering topics and issues.
• Create and update the various atlases of utilities and the utilities of the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Supports the relationship between the City and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors, the public and City staff; performs other duties as assigned.

The In-Tern will be working full time, from Monday to Friday. From 7:30AM-3:30PM or 8:30AM-4:30PM, with one hour lunch time either at noon or 1PM.
