POSITION: SOLAR OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE LEAD
621 Energy is looking for an individual to be the Operations and Maintenance Lead for our existing customer base of commercial and nonprofit customers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, possess excellent communications skills, and be detail oriented. This full-time hybrid role is based at our West Concord, MA office with approximately 40-50% of the time spent at customer sites.
Reporting to the Principal of 621 Energy, this position is responsible for monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of the company’s existing solar PV projects, primarily within Massachusetts. The Operations and Maintenance Lead is responsible for planning, customer communications, documentation, and on-site work for these projects. It is expected that this position will have responsibilities and opportunities beyond those listed below related to new project implementation.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate, schedule, document and invoice annual maintenance, repairs and equipment replacements
- Monitor and troubleshoot operation of existing customer solar projects for alarms, equipment failures, and reduced performance
- Perform remote investigation and on-site work for annual maintenance
- Self-perform service work to the extent that your experience and site conditions safely allow
- Provide configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of new and existing inverters, meters, and monitoring systems
- Provide monthly performance evaluation of existing projects and billing for solar projects managed by company
- Effectively communicate with customers, manufacturers and contractors
- Learn and use energy production modelling tools such as Helioscope
- Review and understand electrical schematics, equipment specifications, operation manuals, building and electric codes
