Pennichuck Corporation is engaged primarily in the collection, storage, treatment, distribution and sale of potable water in southern and central New Hampshire. We have two business segments: regulated water utility operations, and non-regulated water management services. Our Headquarters is located in Nashua, New Hampshire.
Civil Engineering Coops September – December 2024
In this hands on position you will gain field experience assisting and supporting the needs of the Company’s Engineering and Water Supply departments with the following activities:
- Participate in long-term source water monitoring and inspection activities including well monitoring, water quality sampling, stream flow monitoring, and inspection of stormwater structures;
- Assist Engineering with the responsibility of keeping GIS infrastructure and geospatial information as accurate and up to date as possible;
- Identify and remove invasive plant species from sources of supply;
- Analyze water quality characteristics through laboratory work;
- Calibrate and clean field equipment;
- Complete engineering analysis and calculations;
- Conduct utility surveys using GPS techniques within southern and mid New Hampshire, and
- Assist Construction Project Managers and Inspectors to monitor and document construction of water main installation and facility improvements.
Your qualifications should include:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors degree program in civil environmental engineering
- Exposure to surveying, GIS, engineering, planning, environmental science and/or interest in the water industry desired
- Experience with AutoCAD and ESRI GIS software products such as ArcMap and ArcCatalog is a plus
- Possession of a state driver’s license in good standing
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform assign duties accurately.
