The Douglas D. Schumann Library & Learning Commons seeks a skilled co-op with an interest in technology management and a willingness to learn on the job. The Library Technology Manager co-op will play a key role in helping the Library staff manage, configure, and maintain the full range of technologies and technology services the Library provides for the Wentworth community. The changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic require that the Library re-envision many of its technology services and workflows, and the Library Technology Manager will have a unique opportunity to work directly with the Library staff to creatively and effectively provide those services.
Primary Duties: The Co-op will report to the Systems & User Experience Librarian and to the Access Services Librarian. He/She will work with the Library staff and student workers (or Library Student Assistants) to envision, develop, manage, and support several new technology-related workflows and services. New and/or re-envisioned services include a Library Seat Reservation service, a plotting/printing service, “curbside pick-up” 3D printing, technology lending (including maintaining loaned hardware), and digitization of library materials. The Library Technology Manager will collaborate with Library staff to develop and enforce policies related to the use and management of library technology services and will help support public use of those services. This is a great opportunity to envision and implement innovative, student-focused technology services at Wentworth, while gaining practical business management, communications, and technology skills.
