Accelerate Co-op for Entrepreneurs (ACE)
Have you started a business? Do you have a business idea that you’ve started making traction on? Have you identified a problem that needs solving and a possible solution that you want to commercialize? The Accelerate Co-op for Entrepreneurs (ACE) could be the perfect fit for you.
Entrepreneurship is one of the power skills of the 21st century. Like technological literacy and critical thinking, being able to think and act like an entrepreneur has rapidly become a necessary skill for college graduates.
Built to meet the needs of Wentworth’s entrepreneurial students, ACE is a unique opportunity for students to use their co-op to launch and/or grow a business, while getting paid!
The Experience:
The summer experience is a 10-week program for sophomores and a 15-week program for juniors and seniors where up to six students/teams will work exclusively on their businesses as a part of a cohort. During that time, each student is expected to spend at least 35 hours per week building their ventures and we’re excited to provide the following in order to make that happen:
For sophomores:
- Up to $2,500 to spend on materials
- $7,000 in wages
- 10-weeks in a double dorm room
- A Summer A meal plan
- A dedicated faculty advisor
- Accelerate staff support and use of the maker space
- A peer network of other WIT student entrepreneurs
- Networking opportunities with the broader Boston ecosystem
For juniors/seniors:
- Up to $2,500 to spend on materials
- $9,000 in wages
- A dedicated faculty advisor
- Accelerate staff support and use of the maker space
- A peer network of other WIT student entrepreneurs
- Networking opportunities with the broader Boston ecosystem
To be a successful entrepreneur, you must be self-directed and self-motivated to move your ideas forward. As such, approximately half of your time will be spent working on your own, while the other half will be spent with the cohort, learning from faculty and experts, and getting immersed in the larger Boston startup ecosystem.
