Job Title: Office/Field Engineer (2–4 Years’ Experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking an Office/Field Engineer with 2 to 4 years of construction experience to join our project team. You will spend time both in the project office assisting with construction management and on the active construction site ensuring work aligns with drawings, schedules, and safety standards. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer looking to advance their career in construction project management.
Key Responsibilities
Field Execution & Oversight
- Site Inspections: Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Quality Control: Identify field construction conflicts, document defects, and track corrective actions.
- Safety Auditing: Enforce site safety policies and report hazardous conditions immediately.
- Quantity Tracking: Measure and record daily material quantities used on-site for billing validation.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Assist in scheduling and monitoring subcontractor daily progress.
Office & Project Controls
- RFI Management: Draft, submit, and track Requests for Information (RFIs) between field staff and architects.
- Submittals Review: Process shop drawings, product data, and material samples for approval.
- Change Orders: Assist the Project Manager in gathering costs and documentation for change orders.
- As-Built Drawings: Maintain and update the master set of redline/as-built drawings.
- Meeting Minutes: Attend progress meetings, document action items, and distribute official minutes.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of active experience in field engineering or construction project management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
Preferred Skills
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and explain complex drawings.
- Clear verbal communication skills for interacting with laborers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Proven problem-solving skills to resolve unexpected field conflicts quickly.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam
- OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification
