Position Overview
We are seeking a Design Intern (Co‑op) to join our design and project team for a semester‑long or multi‑term program. This role is ideal for a college student studying Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field who is eager to gain hands‑on experience in workplace design, space planning, and project delivery.
As a Design Intern, you will support real client projects, assist our design team with space layouts, furniture specifications, and visual presentations, and learn the full process from concept to installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist designers with space planning, layout development, and test‑fit drawings.
- Create visual presentations, mood boards, and finish palettes for client meetings.
- Support furniture specifications and product selections across multiple manufacturers.
- Update drawings, plans, and project documents with direction from senior designers.
- Help prepare installation drawings, floor plans, and punch‑list documentation.
- Participate in client meetings, internal design reviews, and vendor presentations.
- Conduct research on furniture solutions, materials, trends, and workplace strategies.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, sales staff, and installers to ensure cohesive project execution.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college program in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with CET, Revit, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Strong visual and spatial design skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time‑management abilities.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, ask questions, and take initiative.
- An interest in workplace design, furniture systems, and space planning.
