Operations Co-op (Field & Project Support)

These roles are critical in supporting our project teams in overseeing day-to-day operations on job sites, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring our projects reflect the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship—while reinforcing our position as a trusted leader in construction services.
Position Overview:
The Operations Co-op plays a vital role in supporting Superintendents and Project Managers by assisting with essential project elements such as job site safety, quality assurance, schedule support, and project documentation. This is achieved through the efficient collection, organization, and distribution of relevant information and materials. The Operations Co-op works closely with the project team and field personnel to facilitate effective communication and coordination, helping to ensure projects progress smoothly and meet established goals, while providing the student with meaningful exposure to both field and office operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily project coordination, including communicating with subcontractors, tracking progress, and helping prepare for upcoming work activities in alignment with the project schedule.
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site by participating in safety walks, documenting observations, and promptly reporting potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Supporting the preparation and maintenance of daily logs by gathering information on manpower, deliveries, inspections, and key activities from the field.
- Reviewing and organizing drawings, specifications, and other project documents to ensure the most current information is readily available to the project team.
- Assisting in the management of project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change-related items, and relevant safety paperwork, and helping to maintain accurate logs.
- Supporting procurement efforts by helping identify, track, and follow up on materials and equipment to ensure timely delivery in line with the project schedule.
- Assisting with the coordination and preparation of project meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, documenting meeting minutes, and following up on assigned action items.
- Performing basic quantity take-offs, drawing comparisons, and other project engineering assignments under the guidance of the project team.
- Supporting quality control efforts by helping document inspections, testing, and punch list items, and assisting with the collection of closeout documentation such as warranties, O&M manuals, and as-built information.
- Communicating regularly with project team members to support strong collaboration, timely problem solving, and effective project execution.
Education and Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related degree program.
- Ability to commit to a full-time co-op term in accordance with school guidelines.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, job safety requirements, and basic construction terminology preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction-related software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
