Bell is currently seeking talented Electrical or Mechanical Engineers for a co-op opportunity at our facilities in Texas, primarily in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. As a Bell Co-Op, you will obtain invaluable hands-on technical experience that will help you build the path between your academic and professional careers. We will help you grow as problem solvers and critical thinkers. An authentic engineering experience will be formed by participating in actual development and legacy vertical lift programs. The Bell Co-op Program is a fundamental part of the Bell talent pipeline and carries the potential for students to return as full-time employees upon completing their degree.
Spring Co-Op Program Dates: January 11, 2021 – May 21, 2021
Working Hours: Full-time hourly schedule
Roles and Responsibilities
Co-Op students will be assigned relevant work assignments to challenge and stimulate them according to their current level of experience and capability.
Standards & Calibration Co-Op students may find themselves working in the following areas:
Analyze measuring and test equipment (M&TE) to determine the calibration requirements. Determine the functions to be verified and their specifications, the method to be used, and the measurement standards required.
Prepare and test new calibration procedures.
Perform engineering and statistical analyses of the equipment and historical data to determine appropriate calibration intervals to meet reliability goals.
Assist in maintaining a laboratory quality management system that is registered to ISO 9001. Document laboratory best practices.
Accurate communication with customers and coworkers
The Standards and Calibration Lab (S&CL) maintains measurement standards for physical properties other than dimensional measurement. Included are electrical-electronic, pressure, force, gas and liquid flow, temperature, humidity, time, frequency, vibration, acoustic measurement and gas monitors. Also included are items of dimensional measurement having electronic readouts and/or interfaces. The S&CL assures that Measurement & Test Equipment (M&TE) is accurate, capable, and reliable; and that all measurements are traceable to the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), another National Lab, or to a recognized physical standard.
