SPR Construction Corporation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager (APM) to join our team on-site in Denville, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or students in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related programs at Wentworth Institute of Technology who are eager to launch their careers in construction project management. The Assistant Project Manager will support Project Managers and field teams in overseeing multiple phases of construction projects. The role will provide hands-on exposure to project planning, coordination, budgeting, subcontractor management, and compliance. The APM will gain valuable experience in both federal and commercial construction environments, while being stationed at our office in Denville, NJ.
The Assistant Project Manager will report to the Project Manager and will work closely with field superintendents, the Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHO), subcontractors, and clients. This role offers mentorship, growth, and exposure to large-scale construction management practices.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Denville, NJ with a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include paid time off and opportunities for professional growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers with daily project oversight, planning, and scheduling.
- Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Support preparation of RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change order documentation.
- Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and progress reporting.
- Collaborate with the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to support project safety initiatives.
- Participate in project closeout activities, including punch lists and final turnover documentation.
