Intern Program Overview:
This role will exist within the Intern Program and is intended to attract undergraduate college students who are studying Engineering, or similar Technical disciplines. This hands-on role is meant to provide undergraduates with medical device manufacturing experience, focused on propelling Smith+Nephew forward, while also advancing the student’s career. The program will provide hands-on, meaningful work experiences to improve their technical skills. Successful candidates for the Intern position will gain valuable experience in medical device industry which could shape career decisions and create future employment opportunities. All interns are provided a mentor, will participate in our Summer Learning Series and community service.
Must be currently attending an accredited university as an undergraduate majoring in Engineering, or similar Technical disciplines
No experience required. Manufacturing experience preferred
· Operate simple machines simultaneously with minimal supervision (80%)
o Perform quality checks utilizing various inspection instruments to record data
o Operate equipment with minimal supervision
o Read and understand work instructions
· Additional Responsibilities (20%)
o Complete and understand documentation needed to comply with S.N.E. policies
o Work in a team environment with strong communication skills
o Participate in developing continuous improvement on products and processes
o Maintain the safety and cleanliness of equipment and company product
o Perform preventative maintenance as required
o Comply with all health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and job hazard assessments applicable to specified job activities including medical evaluations as required by job function.
o Perform all other related duties as assigned.
