Whether it’s a leak in a guest room, or a power outage in the lobby, the Engineering Department must always be on their toes! A Lenox Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs to the hotel common areas, meeting spaces, restaurants, bars, fitness center and hotel guestrooms. The Engineer is also responsible for overseeing and maintaining all hotel mechanical equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) While the Engineer is responsible for general upkeep of the property, they must also be flexible and able to problem solve on a regular basis. It is important to have good communication skills, and knowledge of equipment and systems.
Maintenance Engineers must not only like to work with their hands, but also like to work with people! Engineers will frequently interact with hotel guests, assist with hotel vendors and will collaborate with several departments including the front desk, food and beverage, and housekeeping. Being the only hotel in Boston with working wood burning fireplaces, our engineers are members of our “Fire Brigade” who build and light a cozy fire for our guests.
Maintenance Engineers may work a variety of shifts, including days, nights weekends and holidays. A flexible schedule is required.
