Intern – Robotics (Image Guided Therapy) – Cambridge, MA – Summer 2021
Are you interested in an Internship opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing (or have recently completed) an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in 3-6-month paid opportunities at our sites across the US. Through these roles, you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a Health-Tech company.
In this role, you have the opportunity to:
Create new technologies to solve real-world challenges in the areas of medical image analysis, artificial intelligence, machine/deep learning, and image guided therapy. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and passionate, a fast learner, can make strong individual contributions in a team effort, and is detail-oriented in executing, validating and documenting their research. The internship should start in the early summer with a duration of 3 to 6 months.
You are responsible for
- Creating new technical prototypes that solve real-world challenges in image-guided interventions.
- Working collaboratively with a team to experiment and validate the utility of such prototypes.
- Building low-latency software applications that run on real-time imaging systems powered by the latest ML/AI tools.
You are a part of
A leading research team with extensive experience in creating new image-guided therapy solutions. Our team is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but we also work closely with Philips Research labs in Europe and with clinical collaborators at world-renown research hospitals around the US.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
- Experience working independently on a challenging technical research project
- Work collaboratively with a team of scientists, and enjoy hands-on experimentation
- Experience with medical image analysis (image processing/computer vision), image registration with focus on ML/AI
- Experience in Python, including libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, and Keras
- Experience with C++, C#, or Matlab are a plus
