Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team, a leading food and beverage company. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and overseeing the manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality production standards, efficiency, and safety within the plant. Key Responsibilities:

Process Optimization & Improvement:
Evaluate, design, and implement improvements in manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure consistent product quality. Focus on lean manufacturing techniques and process automation where appropriate. -
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Quickly diagnose equipment failures or process issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and production delays. Work closely with maintenance and operations teams to address mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues. -
Equipment & Technology Implementation:
Assist in selecting and introducing new machinery, equipment, and technology to enhance production capabilities. Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety regulations and meets industry standards. -
Quality Control & Compliance:
Work closely with the quality assurance (QA) team to maintain product quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards, such as FDA, GMP, and HACCP. Conduct regular audits of manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to regulatory and company policies. -
Cost Management:
Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs to identify areas for improvement. Assist in budget development for equipment, materials, and labor needs, while ensuring cost-effective resource utilization. -
Data Analysis & Reporting:
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present reports to management regarding production performance, goals, and initiatives. -
Team Collaboration & Training:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, R&D, and maintenance. Provide training to production staff on new processes, technologies, and safety protocols. -
Safety & Environmental Standards:
Ensure manufacturing processes comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety by enforcing safety protocols and ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering within the food and beverage industry (preferred – ideally Internship or co-op in Food/Bev space).
- Strong knowledge of food production processes, food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FDA), and industry standards.
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and process optimization tools.
- Experience with automated systems, PLCs, and control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing management systems (ERP).
- Knowledge of environmental and safety standards in manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and machinery.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
