Primary Purpose:
The Construction Manager works closely with the Project Managers to manage all on-site construction activities including pre-construction, execution, and project closeout. They will work closely with the customers and subcontractors to ensure a completed scope of work that meets contract requirements.
They will be responsible for budgeting, organizing, and scheduling of one or more projects at any given point in time.
Job Responsibilities:
Own all field-related project components including: scope implementation, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control following all applicable state/federal laws, NFPA, NEC and customer requirements
- Review the project in depth to schedule deliverables and estimate cost
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and change order forms
Oversee and direct subcontractors on construction projects from implementation to completion
- Overall all on-site construction to ensure compliance with electrical and safety regulations
- Manage material and track inventory
Communicate regularly with leadership to provide required status updates
- Utilize Construction Services core procedures for daily and weekly reporting while maintaining project as-builts
- Prepare internal and external reports for each project
Anticipate potential problems by analyzing and mitigating risks
- Ensure quality construction standard and the use of proper construction techniques
Experience and Qualifications:
- Associates’ degree in Construction Management or related majors
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in construction, electrical, planning, design, relationship management
- Advanced knowledge of Construction Management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, relevant rules/regulations, and quality standards
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Competent in conflict and crisis management
- Leadership and human resources management skills
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Experience with Microsoft programs including Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- PMP, OSHA 30, EM-385 1-1, QCM and First Aid CPR Certifications are a plus
