National Grid is hiring an Associate Engineer to join our collaborative MA Gas Engineering team in the Central region, based in Waltham, MA. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office.
Our Team
We develop and manage the design and engineering for pipeline projects within the New England Central distribution territory. Our high-performing team is made up of civil and mechanical engineers of all skill and experience levels and are working under the supervision and mentorship of Professional Engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and coordinate designs for natural gas engineering projects to enhance our distribution system
- Assess project scopes to identify local permitting requirements and infrastructure risks early in the design process, ensuring a comprehensive, high-quality, and safe project outcome
- Manage multiple projects and prioritize work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Design and prepare construction drawings as part of the internal design workflow, using AutoCAD and adhering to National Grid standards and industry best practices
- Manage external engineering design firms and ensure their construction drawings are prepared in accordance with company and industry standards, and comply with any state and municipal requirements
- Review construction standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards
