Multi-Dimensional Integration is an automation integrator that provides a variety of services across a broad spectrum of industries. Our services include hardware & software development, engineering staff augmentation, 24/7 emergency support, controls training, and onsite commissioning support. Because we are not specific to any one industry or controls platform, our engineers are extremely versatile, flexible, and understand automation holistically.
Our co-op/intern program is designed with the intention of recruiting new full-time employees, and thus it is critical for us to evaluate interns in real-world environments. Historically, interns have assisted in every one of the service divisions mentioned above. The decision about what the intern will work on is primarily driven by the staffing needs of each of these service divisions. Currently, onsite commissioning support requires a large workforce due to the high demand in the e-commerce industry.
Commissioning modern distribution centers is a huge effort conducted by many engineers and technicians simultaneously over the course of months on site. This gives interns enormous exposure to hands-on experience dealing with electrical/mechanical components, controls devices, and industrial networking. We expect that although our interns are inexperienced, they demonstrate the same level of effort and accountability that our full-time engineers do. Our senior engineers onsite will be responsible for educating them on the tasks at hand and understanding customer service. These sites are scattered throughout the U.S., so travel is a requirement.
