The excitement of working at a small and highly-focused company can’t be beat, and there is an opportunity at our restoration carpentry company for an entry-level construction project managment co-op position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (under direct supervision of project manager):
• Become familiar with the architectural plans and specs which comprise the scope of your assigned project
• Visit the construction site to see and report on work progress.
• Document progress in our carpentry restoration shop from arrival of components to delivery of restored components to field.
• Communicate with our subcontractors, suppliers, and client general contractors.
• Develop RFI’s with assistance from field superintendent and project manager.
• Process submittals, samples, field mock-ups, and LEED documentation.
• Read bid drawings and do quanitiy takeoffs for scopes M&A is bidding.
OBJECTIVE: The successful co-op student will enhance their knowledge of how construction businesses run, from estimating to contract management, and get insight into how preserving historic buildings is a key part of sustainable construction.
