Lexitek develops and manufactures innovative optical and electro-optical components and systems. Our unique phase plates enable optical system developers to test imaging and communication systems under controlled conditions.

Title Manufacturing Engineer

OVERVIEW This position involves manufacturing Lexitek’s current products, customizing and developing new products and infrastructure, as well as performing all activities a small business requires to make and sell product and to service its customers.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Responsibilities include the following: Optics manufacturing: This involves CNC machining, assembly of optical components in a clean environment, as well as several proprietary processes. Optomechanics manufacturing: This involves CNC machining of aluminum and plastic parts, assembly and test of electro-mechanical systems. Required skills include CNC machine operation, assembling basic electronics components, operation of test programs. Product and tooling customization and design: Some modification of current products, tooling, and procedures requires design, typically some CAD, prototyping, production and testing. Documentation and QA: Per our quality system, various activities in the manufacturing process require documentation. QA activities include inspection and test at various points during the manufacturing process.

LOCATION Currently located in Waltham, Lexitek is not convenient to public transportation so access to a car is strongly recommended.

TRAINING Availability to come in for several days of paid training before yearend is highly desirable.
