Job Summary
As an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer, you will be working with a dedicated team of engineers and staff on a variety of subsurface exploration programs and foundation-related design and construction projects. The position entails a mixture of office duties and field work. Office duties include performing laboratory soil testing, geotechnical analyses, supporting senior staff in preparing and reviewing of reports, figures, tables, logs, and specifications. Field work includes observing soil borings and test pits, and observing the geotechnical aspect of construction, including subgrade of footings and slabs, ground improvements, groundwater control and support of excavations, and deep foundations.
Qualifications and Skills
The preferred candidate will display strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Experience in geotechnical engineering with a focus on subsurface investigation programs, construction, and earthwork a plus.
Must have demonstrable, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have ability to work independently and within a group.
Must be results-oriented and must possess organization and planning skills with great attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience in relevant technical software and gINT a plus.
Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license with reliable daily transportation.
Ability to travel to active construction sites in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Willing to work more than 40 hours on occasion when a project load requires it.
Must be eligible to work in the US. LGCI is an E-Verify company.
