Role Overview:
As part of a team of design engineers, the Mechanical Design Co-Op/Intern will be exposed to a variety of different engineering concepts and applications. The objective will be to get the individual involved in many aspects of our business including design work, P&ID document review, project management, calculations and analysis, component evaluation, writing and reviewing technical documentation and detail analysis of the bill of materials to name a few of the key tasks. This role will interface with other engineers, project managers and others in the office
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in Design Development: Support the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software and other tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Bambu Lab, Excel).
- Prototype Support: Help with the creation, testing, and modification of prototypes for new designs.
- Conduct Engineering Calculations: Assist in performing calculations to ensure design feasibility and product functionality.
- Technical Documentation: Contribute to preparing and maintaining technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with senior engineers to refine design concepts and troubleshoot issues.
- Testing and Validation: Assist in conducting tests on mechanical components and systems, documenting results, and suggesting improvements.
- Research and Development: Conduct research on materials, tools, and manufacturing methods to support design optimization.
