Overview
As a Coordinator Co-op, you will be working with our Coordination and Detailing Team.
Our Coordinators work with Computer modeling (BIM) which plays a critical part in the successful execution of construction projects. The coordinators take the engineer’s model and place Interstate’s standard Revit content into the parent model which includes content from all of the MEP disciplines. This coordinated model is a reflection of what the project engineer designed.
Internship Responsibilities
As a Intern, you will be able to learn and shadow in the following areas:
- Assist in the developing of a model virtually for the electrical discipline
- Learn how to ensure that the model aligns with the standards and goals set forth by the BIM Execution plan for the project
- Help shadow and sit in on meetings that collaborate and coordinate internally and/or externally with other disciplines design-changes and model changes
- See how we create and model specific BIM family content
- Be exposed to how to develop accurate working construction drawings based on the BIM platform
- Learn how to create design documentation and required shop drawings for submission to BIM Manager for approval
- Assist BIM Coordinators in creating, updating and revising BIM Models throughout the project
