The Assistant Estimator is responsible for all estimating project related tasks that will lead to a successful project bid opportunity, i.e., bid invites, creating estimating files, scope checks, validation of bids, RFPs, take-offs, development of estimates, communication of status and system implementation and updates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Integrated team to pre-qualify projects
- Receive new bid invites and create file folders for bid organization
- Perform scope review of new bid invites; navigate through ITB’s and drawing sets
- Ensure quotes and projects are maintained and organized in the active quotes folder
- Obtain, maintain, and track updated and accurate current market pricing in the estimating database
- Maintain and update vendor contact lists
- Ensure clear and timely communication with vendors, contractors, and internal team members
- Respond to RFPs timely and accurately
- Request quotes from suppliers, efficiently, accurately, timely and in an organized manner (materials, labor, design, etc.)
- Attend and coordinate walk-through site visits to qualify projects and understand logistics
- Navigate contractor drawings and extract specific requirements
- Develop estimates and proposals and review with estimating team
- Conduct quantity takeoffs
- Assist with managing and monitoring client changes to projects
- Perform project audits and track/document any net change to gross margin with Integrated team
