Position Summary:
This cooperative education position is designed for engineering students interested in working in an innovative and dynamic R&D environment. The student will be based in the Systems Engineering Department, which will provide an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience, build and hone engineering skills, and collaborate with other engineering professionals. The student will perform entry-level engineering work focused on understanding product performance and requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures. The student will be mentored by a Systems Engineering team member via routine meetings to track progress, address questions, resolve issues, and plan for upcoming tasks. The student will be empowered to work independently and make their own decisions with the some supervision. The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver with excellent interaction skills.
Conduct product testing at the system- and subsystem-level and support problem-solving activities
Design, set up, and execute tests hands-on in a lab setting
Program test hardware using Python and/or LabVIEW
Analyze test data including statistical analyses using Minitab and/or Excel software
Participate and/or present in technical data reviews with multidisciplinary team
Conduct environmental stress testing and identify areas for design improvements
Research new tools and techniques to advance test methods and data collection
