As an Automation Engineer, you are responsible for performing conventional engineering assignments to ensure the continuity of company operations. You can work independently on engineering problems and managing small, straightforward projects. Additionally, you handle sections of larger projects under the general guidance of a team or project leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and maintain custom electromechanical equipment, automated work cells, vision systems, and multi-axis robotics.
  • Lead problem solving projects
  • Review and analyze PLC programs to aid in troubleshooting complex systems.
  • Initiate and complete technical activities leading to improved production processes.
  • Manage daily tasks and communicate progress to impacted groups.
  • Write robotic programs to ensure operational efficiencies of operating equipment for production.
  • Crosstrain other technical staff as needed on specialty robotic workstations.
  • Provide technical assistance to others as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Track and evaluate operations KPI – efficiency, internal scrap, external quality cost
  • Participate in quotation processes for new projects, providing technical input, cost estimations, and feasibility analysis.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for production processes, including robotic cells, PLCs, and vision systems.
  • Lead automation activities for new project launches, ensuring seamless integration into existing manufacturing lines.
  • Lead internal project launch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project management, production, quality, and maintenance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and increase process reliability.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including electrical and pneumatic schematics, risk assessments, and process instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and OEM customer standards.
  • Support investment planning for automation equipment and technologies.
  • Budget tracking
  • Work with customer’s portals to ensure customer’s needs are met on time without affecting scorecard.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Relevant experience welcome

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Competent in managing small projects and contributing to larger projects.
