Highpoint is now accepting resumes for Wentworth Institute of Technology Civil Engineering students at our company headquarters in Dedham, Massachusetts. As a Highpoint intern, you will work in a team environment and have exposure to land development projects that may include site design and planning; residential and commercial subdivisions; landscape and hardscape design; vehicular and pedestrian spaces; parking and loading area design; natural resource area protection/rehabilitation; infrastructure design; water and wastewater conveyance; stormwater management; project site inspections, observations, and reporting; local, state, and federal permitting; and interfacing with various public and private interest personnel. Position requires that interns be present at Highpoint offices during work hours unless otherwise directed.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary site observations and assessments, including, but not limited to, preparation of site photo inventories and confirmation of existing site features and conditions.
- Assist with due diligence research for various projects, including review of local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations; preparation of due diligence exhibits using GIS mapping software; and conducting research at county registries of deeds.
- Assist with field measurements using various survey and measurement equipment.
- Assist with CAD drafting and design, including use of Civil 3D design modules.
- Assist with preparation of project presentation materials, including but not limited to color renderings, PowerPoint decks, and vehicular turning exhibits.
- Assist with preparation of stormwater management reports, including narrative writing and preparing hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality calculations.
- Assist with preparation, reproduction, and compilation of permit application and site plan packages for submission to various agencies.
- Attend meetings on an as-needed basis.
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including but not limited to reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs, and maintaining project construction administration logs.
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with construction documents and project approval conditions.
