The main initiative and goal of Hensel Phelps’ comprehensive co-op program is to fully integrate students into the construction process and help craft students into world class BUILDERS of unique, complex and landmark projects.
Hensel Phelps offers co-ops to construction management and engineering students. The co-op will be assigned to a project. Half of the co-op will be with field engineers and the other half with office engineers (both field and office engineering roles will be onsite at the same project, working out of temporary construction offices)
Field Engineer co-op duties include assisting field engineers in layout, assisting Hensel Phelps craft with form work design, production reporting, field purchasing, subcontractor schedule monitoring, quality control and safety monitoring.
Office Engineer co-op duties include assisting office engineers with managing subcontractors, RFIs, submittals, deliveries, change order preparations, pay application review, document control, quality control and safety monitoring.
Specific tasking is an integral component of the co-op experience and consistent with the relevant needs of the assigned construction project.
