H.E. Callahan Construction Co., a long-standing commercial construction firm, is looking to add a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager/Estimator to our team in Auburn. This hybrid role is integral to supporting Project Managers and leading efforts during the bidding and preconstruction phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical and organizational skills, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to handle both field support and office-based estimating responsibilities.
Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager/Estimator will work closely with Project Managers to coordinate construction projects from mobilization through completion, while also supporting the estimating team during the bidding process. This dual-role position requires someone who can manage job site logistics and documentation while performing detailed take-offs, soliciting subcontractor quotes, and preparing estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Make calls on behalf of Project Managers as needed
- Coordinate mobilization tasks for new projects, including arranging dumpsters, portable toilets, job trailers, storage trailers, and equipment deliveries
- Print and organize project and bid documents upon request
- Attend pre-bid meetings as needed to evaluate project scope and gather essential details
- Create, process, and track subcontractor agreements; upload relevant documents to Procore and Sharepoint
- Update vendor and subcontractor contacts and maintain accurate insurance records in Procore
- Assist with preparing and delivering bids and bid documents
- Support new project setup and complete project buyout tasks
- Process and track submittals and RFIs
- Monitor and restock office and safety supplies as needed
- Use Procore software for project document management and tracking
