Our Acton, MA location is looking to hire a student interested in Geotechnical Engineering to work in our internationally recognized testing laboratory. This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams.
Geocomp – GeoTesting Express (GTX), provides comprehensive geotechnical laboratory and field testing services of soil, rock, geosynthetics and other materials below the ground surface. GTX determines the physical and mechanical properties of underground material for site characterization, geotechnical design, quality control and performance assessment purposes.
Utilizing state-of-the-art automated testing equipment, advanced processes and automation, GTX provides clients with fast turnaround and accurate test results. GTX continues to offer uncompromised quality, reducing our clients’ risk by providing confidence that the testing is being performed correctly and according to published standards.
Job Responsibilities include:
Laboratory testing of rock, soil, and geosynthetics
Reporting testing results
Assisting with other laboratory projects
Maintaining high standards of safety and quality
Student should be at least into their 2nd year of a degree program in civil engineering, geology or related discipline
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn
Strong interpersonal skills
The laboratory technician will be required to take appropriate OSHA and safety training
Lab environment requires bending, lifting up to 50lbs, standing and/or sitting at lab bench or desk.
Laboratory testing: standard laboratory environment; Field testing: typical constructions sites
