Industrial Designer
The Opportunity:
We are looking for an Industrial Designer and/or Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced, growing creative group. You will be an integral part of the design team and exposed to all aspects of the design process. Continually researching existing product spaces along with envisioning new opportunities for product growth. You will be directly supporting the team of multi-disciplined product designers, engineers and technologists to achieve product development goals and timelines through design development, visualization and manufacturing support. We like to work in the physical space, so working protypes are always being produced for review. We 3D print, laser cut and CNC components to realize our ideas and prove concepts.
Responsibilities:
– Communicate ideas through verbal and visual mediums
– Visualize concepts through sketches and rendering (traditional and digital formats)
– Responsible for taking projects/products from initial concept/idea phase through to market launch and UL/ETL certifications.
– Work closely with designers, engineers and marketing to bring products to life
Qualifications:
– Pursuing Bachelor’s or advanced degree, with a focus on Industrial Design
– Minimum 1-5 years of relevant design experience.
– Experience with design software (Adobe Creative Suite and other visualization tools)
– Experience with CAD and visualization software (Solidworks, Rhino3D, Keyshot)
– Strong visualization skills: from quick concept sketching to complete presentation sketches, 3D CAD modeling to rendering – Practical hands-on product design and workshop skills
– Knowledge of 3D printing and rapid prototyping technologies
– Able to solve complex problems with engineering and manufacturability constraints
– Ability to multitask in a fast pasted environment
– Knowledge of lighting a plus
