Position Summary
Fraen Machining Corporation is seeking a motivated and hands on Mechanical Engineer to join our Woburn, MA manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career engineer looking to gain real world experience in precision manufacturing, machining, process improvement, and engineering support within a fast paced production environment.
The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with cross functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Production, and Manufacturing to support continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and help develop efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.
We are looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, learning how things work, and being directly involved on the manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing and machining operations through hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and waste reduction
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and workflow
- Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions related to production or quality issues
- Analyze manufacturing data and help identify process improvement opportunities
- Assist in developing and updating process documentation, work instructions, and engineering records
- Collaborate with machinists, quality personnel, and leadership on day-to-day production support
- Support lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives throughout the facility
- Gain exposure to CNC machining, tooling, materials, secondary operations, and manufacturing support processes
- Participate in special engineering projects and process improvement activities as needed
