Position Summary:
The Quality Control Co-Op is responsible for working with Quality engineers, specialists, technicians, and leaders to develop and implement organizational improvement projects. They will provide technical assistance and support in the performance of all functions of the Quality Department under the direction of the Quality Manager.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
- Mechanical and/or Electro/Mechanical skills, knowledge, and academic.
- Participate in product assembly, product testing & inspection, troubleshooting, and corrective action as required by leadership.
- Investigate opportunities to improve product yield (reduce scrap or rework) in order to increase production throughput through first pass yield data.
- Document existing and new Quality and Manufacturing processes.
- Conduct verification and validation testing by collecting several types of data.
- Compile test data and compose test reports.
- Evaluate manufacturing assembly, testing, and packaging activities relative to product lines.
- Support the development and documentation of standard procedures and work instructions.
- Participate in cross functional teams, failure investigations and corrective action/preventive actions.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Provide Quality engineering solutions for other departments as required and resolve problems with components and products with only limited supervision.
- Assist other departments as necessary by providing either CAD, mechanical drafting or free-hand artwork for internal company use.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or may be necessary to maintain flow of work.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk onto the production floor.
Work Environment:
Office and Manufacturing environment.
