Designers Choice is searching for an Industrial Engineer student to complete a four month Co-op program, with strong experience in a manufacturing environment. As the Industrial Engineer intern, you will participate and manage the continuous improvement in productivity and cost reduction in our lean six sigma project, with the opportunity to receive a Yellow Belt Certification by the end if all requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Industrial Engineer techniques and Lean concepts with the intent of improving process flows, reducing operational expenses, and improving productivity
- Analyze and challenge existing procedures in areas of responsibility throughout the facilities, making recommendations, and working with management to integrate solutions
- Assist in drafting and designing a new layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency in our facility
- Develop, Implement and Improve manufacturing processes, tools, equipment and work activities, to meet and exceed the company’s safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Additional responsibilities include facility manpower planning, productivity planning, machine capacity analysis, process effectiveness analysis, material flow analysis, developing and maintaining engineered time standards, value stream mapping, 5S organization, process flow and line balancing.
