Assistant
Superintendent
Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent position can be very diverse. Depending on the project
size and challenges, the Assistant Superintendent may be responsible for various
scopes of work. These scopes of work range from foundation, structure, and facade
through MEP to interior rough and finish, along with worklist and Punch list.
Responsibilities
• Understanding and implementing the field Standard Operating Procedures and
daily activities.
• Assist in managing and documenting all day-to-day job site activities.
• Direct field personnel according to the project plan and/or the direction of the
Superintendent.
• Communicate issues, events, performance, and job progress daily to the
Superintendent. Follow up accordingly with Superintendent and Team
• Report problems promptly to the Superintendent to facilitate the most costeffective
solutions.
• Establish effective working relationships with the entire team, Design Team, and
Owners.
• Work closely with the Superintendent on matters pertaining to materials,
sequencing, scheduling, and personnel.
• Understand the importance of Procurement Log.
• Understand SWIPP Requirements
• Must be able to provide jobsite coverage including nights, off shifts hours and
weekends if required.
• Basic knowledge of MEP Systems
• Basic knowledge of Foundation Support, Geo-Tech, SOE & Regulated soils
• Basic knowledge of Structure types
• Basic knowledge of Building Plans/Specifications
• Basic knowledge of Building Control, Line, Grade
Project Start-Up/Turnover Meeting
• Identify pre-mobilization activities in conjunction with the Project Superintendent.
• Review start-up schedule with Superintendent and understand your
responsibilities.
Safety
• Track/Log subcontractors’ participation in a safety pre-construction meeting
prior to starting work on the project.
• Track/Log that all subcontractors have a full set of SDS sheets on the project.
• Track/Log subcontractor site specific safety plan.
Track/Log current insurance certificate prior to allowing any sub to start work on
the project.
• Review the project daily to ensure that all activities are being performed in
accordance with all OSHA regulations and the project site specific safety plan.
• Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
• Able to perform duties related to the DB/JKS Hot Works Permit Process.
• Assist in managing and documenting all day-to-day job site activities.
• Understand NFPA 241 / Fire Prevention Program Manager (FPPM)
requirements.
• Work closely with DBJKS Safety & Risk Management Team.
Scheduling
· Basic Understanding of Scheduling activities & MS Projects
Quality Management
• Become familiar with QAQC, SOP and assist the Team with implementation.
• Complete First & Divisional Inspections in Procore
• Participate in developing and executing the First Delivery process.
• Create and maintain QR codes Through the life of the project.
• Create locations in Procore.
• Assist in Developing unit type specified inspections.
Sub-Contractor and Site Management throughout the Project
• Help to mobilize the field office and maintain the job site to Company standards.
• Organize all project documentation on the job site for easy access and review
according to company standards.
• Manage subcontractor performance to quality and ethical standards.
• Work with Superintendent to identify and resolve manpower
challenges and construction changes/issues.
• Review the 3WLA schedule with Foreman in the field as required.
Meeting Attendance
• Attend and participate in all required meetings.
• Attend all Project Team Agreement meetings,
• Attend weekly DJKS internal Team meetings.
• Attending project turnover, mobilization, and project coordination
meetings.
• Attend safety meetings; weekly foreman meetings; monthly schedule
review meetings.
• Attend quarterly Superintendent meetings.

Salary Range
$75,000-$130,000
