Specific tasks for the Capital Projects Management (CPM) Intern may include:
The preparation of 3-dimensional photo simulation representations of project work,
These are typically done using a combination of Revit/AutoCad, Sketch-up, and
Photoshop. The photo simulations are prepared for use in the approval of proposed
projects by the Senior Administration of Boston College.
There will be ample opportunities for the Intern to see projects under construction. We will have the Intern visit project sites with one of our CPM staff members. The Intern may also visit a project on a weekly basis, and attend job meetings involving the Owner, Architect & Contractor.
Assisting the design staff in the preparation of construction scoping documents using ACAD & Revit for various capital projects.
Utilizing Revit, students will assist the staff in drawing building models to be used for CPM projects and facilities services initiatives. This has become an ever-increasing task of importance here at BC. Much of our interest in candidates for the position has been based on having a solid understanding of Revit.
Other tasks will include: making prints, scanning documents, material & major project research, and organization of our archive room.
