Boston, MA Co-op Expires January 22, 2021

The goal of our small but high-impact team is to research and develop AI-powered audio processing algorithms. The twist is: our algorithms have to run on live audio, in real time, on real devices for applications such as hearing assistance, voice pickup, and ones we haven’t even thought of yet. As part of the team you will be working with experts in deep learning, digital signal processing, software engineering and psychoacoustics to prototype and implement new algorithms.

Some current focuses of our group include: perceptual audio quality in deep learning models, lightweight and efficient audio models for low resource devices and optimized algorithms for rapid model training and iteration.

Bose has a strong history of combining creative thinking with cutting edge technology in the audio domain. We’re looking for candidates passionate about ML and audio to help shape Bose’s next chapter!

Responsibilities:

As an intern on our team, a large chunk of your time will likely be devoted to prototyping and implementing ML and software-based solutions and experiences. You will investigate novel algorithms, evaluate them against objective and perceptual metrics, help curate and develop large internal audio datasets, and present your results.
In addition, you will integrate solutions into new and existing systems and platforms to show new proofs of concept.
As a member of our team, you will have the chance to contribute to projects that will be shipped to thousands of Bose customers, submit patents for novel work and potentially submit work to top tier AI and signal processing conferences (Interspeech, ICASSP, WASPAA, etc).
