We have many projects throughout Boston working with the large General Contractors. This is a great opportunity for a Student/Young professional to work with different architectural firms drawings and General Contractors. The position offered is a Training position (CO-OP) for future Project Manager/Estimator. The typical responsibilities are to learn the specific details of the position and to assist the Lead estimator and/or Project Manager with duties of job searching, estimating, performance of field personnel and project close out. Essential functions are; Prepare Quantity Takeoffs, Prepare and maintain cost assemblies, research sub-contractors and vendors, advise estimator of potential problems during scope review, assist in shop drawings, bidding and field quality inspections, maintain drawing logs and other responsibilities.
Skills and abilities: Ability to read blueprints, working knowledge of Bluebeam, CADD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and excellent communication skills.Ability to drive to construction sites and observe field workers when required.
