Manufacturing Engineering Co-op beginning April 2021.
Allurion is seeking a co-op to provide support for various Manufacturing and Operational activities throughout the co-op period. Typical employment periods are 3-6 months, depending on the co-op’s availability.
The candidate must have proficiency in mechanical engineering and/or material science, with strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, and solid problem-solving skills. This position will take on tasks and projects assigned by the manufacturing engineering staff to advance Allurion’s manufacturing process and procedures as the organization readies for expansion. Guidance will be provided by an experienced manufacturing engineering team in a fast-paced, highly regulated, quality-controlled work environment. The co-op will be expected to utilize and develop/strengthen skills in standard test methods, data acquisition and analysis, equipment acquisition, validation and verification efforts, composition of work instruction documentation, statistics (Minitab), and development of test fixtures.
This position is meant to provide value to Allurion while giving co-ops exposure to the tools, techniques, and lessons that can only be taught in a collaborative, quality-controlled engineering environment. A small company, like Allurion, offers exposure to a broad range of activities typically greater than larger medical companies allow. Effective communication, honesty, and enthusiasm are strongly valued here at Allurion, and every voice is heard and valued.
