 The Position

Working under the direction of a Senior Engineer, AHA is seeking a Design Engineer (HVAC).   The successful candidate will prepare engineering design concepts for HVAC building systems for moderately complex assignments.    Project types include: Corporate, Academic, Science & Technology, Industrial, Mission Critical Civic & Entertainment, Healthcare, Historic Preservation & Adaptive Reuse and Mixed Use.

  

Job Responsibilities

 

·         Design mechanical / hvac systems, including ductwork, piping, and layout of devices

Make calculations using engineering formulas such as heating and cooling loads and equipment sizing
Consulting with Lead Engineer, prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems
Research equipment selection from catalogs, under direction of engineer
Possess general understanding of applicable building codes, consults with engineer regarding building code requirements
Participate and develop company design production standards
Promote and use company design production standards
Handle multiple projects with efficiency and accuracy
Receive and follow through with specific or technical instructions
Participate and contribute to a team efforts, exchanging ideas and recommending improvements
Attend client meetings, as necessary
Visit sites, as required
