Field Engineer
Cashman is one of the preeminent contractors and developers in Heavy Civil/Marine Construction, Dredging, Renewable Energy, LNG/Concrete Tank Design, Project Development, Barge/Equipment Leasing and Mechanical Construction Industries.
We are currently seeking applicants for our Field Engineer position to work in multiple disciplines. Field engineers provide onsite technical support, land surveys, project quality control, as well as field management assistance. Individual will be responsible for data collection in the field quality control, quality assurance, and document production. Desired candidate must be willing to work a demanding flexible schedule, and work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required to meet project schedule. Extensive travel and/or relocation based upon project assignments may be required. Field Engineers are responsible for ensuring a safe work environment during all operations and tasks for all related construction work.
This is an entry-level position; prior experience in surveying preferred, but not required. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a college/university/maritime college.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct research, diagnose problems, develop appropriate solutions and report on project status
Assist Senior Engineers and Project Managers with management of construction administration
Work collaboratively with team members to maintain project schedules and deadlines
Inspecting and installing new equipment and technologies
Ensure project runs smoothly and engineering designs are being followed
Assist the Project Engineer in any/all technical and logistical aspects of the project
Conduct routine safety testing of machinery
Ensure a safe working environment at all times
Complete daily assignments in an efficient manner
Preferred Candidate will have:
Prior experience in land surveying
Understanding of technical aspects of machinery and technology
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Mastery with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to challenging situations
Experience reading construction plans and schematics
Experience using CAD to make drawings, plans, or schematics
Possess a strong initiative and a high attention level to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to learn new computer programs independently from others
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline
Ability to travel and work on-site at field locations
Good physical condition and able to work in wide ranging temperature and weather settings
Fluent use of the English language (read, speak, and write)
Valid Driver’s License
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
